Takeaway print design.

To extend the experience of Man Up beyond the exhibit space, I created a series of print takeaways that visitors could bring home. Each piece was designed to distill the core themes of the project’s identity, emotion, and self-expression into bold, accessible formats. Using graphic elements pulled directly from the animated video and fragrance series, I crafted postcards, stickers, and a T-shirt that expressed the visual language and emotional weight of the campaign. Every item was carefully formatted for print production, ensuring the hand-drawn aesthetic and layered textures translated clearly and vibrantly in physical form, allowing the message of Man Up to live beyond the screen and gallery walls.

The Break Free illustration was created as an exclusive graphic for takeaway t-shirts and stickers, extending the visual language of the Man Up! campaign. Based on the muscular figure from the What is A Man Without Muscle animation, the artwork was digitally hand-illustrated to match the bold, textured style of the project. The composition carefully balanced the figure with a shattered television and supporting elements, optimized for both large-scale fabric printing and smaller sticker formats. Focused on clarity, energy, and cohesion, Break Free captures the campaign’s core message of emotional liberation through a powerful, wearable design.

Designing impactful imagery.

To keep production cost-effective while maintaining a high-quality look, I hand-crafted each takeaway item with precision. Postcards were individually cut using a guillotine cutter and finished with rounded corners using a manual corner rounder for a clean, professional appearance. Stickers were produced by printing designs on matte laser paper, applying a thick gloss laminate by hand, and then carefully cutting each piece. This hands-on process allowed for a polished, durable final product while staying true to the handcrafted spirit of the Man Up! campaign.

Crafting the takeaways.

To elevate the Break Free t-shirt presentation, I created a custom hanger display integrated with foam board arms digitally illustrated in the same bold style as the graphic. The flexing muscular arms framed the black tank top, making the shirt and display feel like a single cohesive piece. This design choice reinforced the campaign’s emphasis on strength and self-expression, while maintaining visual consistency with the hand-drawn aesthetic of Man Up! across both apparel and installation elements.
